LB Agar, Lennox L Modification

Contains the nutrients as described by Bertani (1951), and Luria & Burrows (1955). Formulation modified by Lennox L (1955).

Compared to the LB Miller Modification, the Lennox Modification of LB is considered the low salt version, containing only 5 g/L of sodium chloride, while the Miller Modification contains 10 g/L sodium chloride.  This low salt modification of LB is useful when working with salt-sensitive microbes or salt-sensitive antibiotics.

This rich medium supports the rapid growth of Escherichia coli for molecular biology applications, as well as other microbes during general culture maintenance.

محیط کشت Lennox LB (Lysogeny Broth) یک نسخه کم نمک از محیط کشت LB است که حاوی 5 گرم در لیتر کلرید سدیم می باشد. این محیط برای کشت اشریشیا کلی و سایر میکروب های حساس به نمک یا هنگام استفاده از آنتی بیوتیک های حساس به نمک مناسب است و برای کاربردهای زیست شناسی مولکولی و نگهداری عمومی کشت میکروبی استفاده می شود.
