Description
Tris HCL is a buffer used in molecular biology, tissue culture, and electrophoresis procedures.
Tris is compatible with many enzymes in molecular biology, for example DNA modifying enzymes, because its buffering range is between 7.1-8.9. The lower pH 7.4 can be associated more with maintaining RNA, however, the pH 8.0 works equally as well with both DNA and RNA nucleic acids.
