Description
Kanamycin is an aminoglycoside antibiotic derived from Streptomyces kanamyceticus. Kanamycin inhibits protein synthesis and elicits miscoding by binding to the 30S subunit and, sometimes, the 50S subunit of the bacterial ribosome. Kanamycin is effective against Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria.

کانامایسین یک آنتی‌بیوتیک آمینوگلیکوزیدی مشتق شده از Streptomyces kanamyceticus است. کانامایسین با اتصال به زیر واحد 30S و گاهی اوقات، زیر واحد 50S ریبوزوم باکتریایی، سنتز پروتئین را مهار کرده و باعث کدگذاری نادرست می‌شود. کانامایسین در برابر باکتری‌های گرم مثبت و گرم منفی مؤثر است.
