Application
Ceftazidime hydrate is used to study the effect of expression, binding and inhibition of penicillin-binding proteins especially PBP3 on bacterial cell wall mucopeptide synthesis. It is also used in bacterial susceptibility studies and to ̣select mutant colonies of interest.

Cephalosporins, such as ceftazidime , disrupt the synthesis of the peptidoglycan layer of bacterial cell walls.

کاربرد
سفتازیدیم هیدرات برای مطالعه تأثیر بیان، اتصال و مهار پروتئین‌های اتصال‌دهنده پنی‌سیلین، به‌ویژه PBP3، بر سنتز موکوپپتید دیواره سلولی باکتری‌ها استفاده می‌شود. همچنین در مطالعات حساسیت باکتریایی و انتخاب کلونی‌های جهش‌یافته مورد نظر نیز کاربرد دارد.
کنش های بیوشیمی/فیزیولوژیکی
سفالوسپورین‌ها، مانند سفتازیدیم، سنتز لایه پپتیدوگلیکان دیواره سلولی باکتری‌ها را مختل می‌کنند.
