Purified endo-β−(1→4)-xylanase from Thermomyces lanuginosus produced by submerged fermentation of a genetically modified Aspergillus oryzae microorganism
Studies show that the signal sequence found in the xylanase gene is critical for protein production in E. coli. Loss of this sequence resulted in a significant reduction in expression.
Xylanase catalyses the degradation of xylan into xylooligosaccharides and D-xylose. It also breaks down hemicellulose. Xylanase is used for the production of biofuels, such as ethanol and xylitol. It improves the quality of bread and juices. Xylanase is used in biobleaching process and decreases environmental pollution.

اندو-β-(1→4)-زایلاناز خالص شده از Thermomyces lanuginosus که با تخمیر غوطه‌وری یک میکروارگانیسم Aspergillus oryzae اصلاح شده ژنتیکی تولید شده است. مطالعات نشان می‌دهد که توالی سیگنال موجود در ژن زایلاناز برای تولید پروتئین در E. coli حیاتی است. از دست دادن این توالی منجر به کاهش قابل توجه بیان شد. زایلاناز تجزیه زایلان به زایلوالیگوساکاریدها و D-زایلوز را کاتالیز می‌کند. همچنین همی‌سلولز را تجزیه می‌کند. زایلاناز برای تولید سوخت‌های زیستی مانند اتانول و زایلیتول استفاده می‌شود. کیفیت نان و آبمیوه‌ها را بهبود می‌بخشد. زایلاناز در فرآیند سفید کردن زیستی استفاده می‌شود و آلودگی محیط زیست را کاهش می‌دهد.
