Description
Methyl Blue (C.l. 42780) is a triaminotriphenylmethane dye with each amino group carrying a monosulfonated phenyl substituent. It is also known as Water blue, Acid blue 93, Cotton blue, Poirriers blue, and Aniline blue water soluble.
Application
Methyl Blue has been used:
to stain leaf disks for callose visualization within the cells
to incubate cells for 4′,6-diamidino-2-phenylindole (DAPI)/septa staining
as a marker for β-(1-3)-d-glucans or acidic phloroglucinol for the detection of callose and lignin
in Mann′s stain as it involves a methyl blue-eosin mixture

متیل بلو (C.l. 42780) یک رنگ تری آمینوتری فنیل متان است که هر گروه آمین آن حامل یک جانشین فنیل مونوسولفونه شده است. همچنین به عنوان آبی آب، آبی اسیدی ۹۳، آبی پنبه‌ای، آبی پوآریرز و آبی آنیلین محلول در آب شناخته می‌شود.
کاربرد
متیل بلو در موارد زیر استفاده شده است:

برای رنگ‌آمیزی دیسک‌های برگ جهت مشاهده کالوز (callose) در سلول‌ها

برای انکوبه کردن سلول‌ها جهت رنگ‌آمیزی DAPI (4′,6-diamidino-2-phenylindole)/سپتا (septa)

به عنوان نشانگر برای بتا-(۱-۳)-دی-گلوکان‌ها (β-(1-3)-d-glucans) یا فلوروگلوسینول اسیدی (acidic phloroglucinol) برای تشخیص کالوز و لیگنین
