Biochem/physiol Actions
Alizarin Red S is used for the staining of cartilage and bone. It reacts with calcium, thereby helping in the diagnosis of calcium deposits. It is also used to study carbohydrate–boronic acid interactions.

کنش های بیوشیمی/فیزیولوژیکی
آلیزارین قرمز S برای رنگ‌آمیزی غضروف و استخوان استفاده می‌شود. این ماده با کلسیم واکنش می‌دهد و در نتیجه به تشخیص رسوبات کلسیم کمک می‌کند. همچنین برای مطالعه برهمکنش‌های کربوهیدرات-اسید بورونیک استفاده می‌شود.
