Description
2,3,5-Triphenyltetrazolium chloride is a colorless water-soluble dye. In the mitochondria of living cells, it is reduced to a deep red, water-insoluble compound (formazan). 2,3,5-Triphenyltetrazolium chloride helps to distinguish between viable and infarcted brain tissue after stroke.
Application
2,3,5-Triphenyltetrazolium chloride has been used to stain heart tissue to measure the extent of acute lesion. It has also been used to stain brain tissue to check the size of infarct area.

کلرید ۲،۳،۵-تری‌فنیل تترازولیوم یک رنگ بی‌رنگ و محلول در آب است. در میتوکندری سلول‌های زنده، به یک ترکیب قرمز تیره و نامحلول در آب (فورمازان) تبدیل می‌شود. کلرید ۲،۳،۵-تری‌فنیل تترازولیوم به تشخیص بافت زنده و بافت دچار انفارکتوس مغزی پس از سکته کمک می‌کند.
کاربرد
از ۲،۳،۵-تری فنیل تترازولیوم کلراید برای رنگ‌آمیزی بافت قلب جهت اندازه‌گیری وسعت ضایعه حاد استفاده شده است. همچنین برای رنگ‌آمیزی بافت مغز جهت بررسی اندازه ناحیه انفارکتوس نیز استفاده شده است.
