Application

D-(+)-Glucosamine hydrochloride has been used:

as a standard to quantify and express chitin content as glucosamine equivalents.

to stimulate cells with glucose in the presence of glucosamine

Biochem/physiol Actions
Glucosamine, an amino sugar, is the precursor of the hexosamine biosynthetic pathway leading to the formation of UDP-N-acetylglucosamine (UDP-GlcNAc), which is then used for making glycosaminoglycans, proteoglycans, and glycolipids. D-(+)-Glucosamine inhibits the coaggregation of Candida yeast species with the bacterial strain S. salivarius.

کاربرد
از D-(+)-گلوکوزامین هیدروکلراید در موارد زیر استفاده شده است:

• به عنوان استانداردی برای تعیین کمیت و بیان محتوای کیتین به عنوان معادل‌های گلوکوزامین.

• برای تحریک سلول‌ها با گلوکز در حضور گلوکوزامین

گلوکزامین، یک قند آمینه، پیش‌ساز مسیر بیوسنتز هگزوزامین است که منجر به تشکیل UDP-N-استیل گلوکزامین (UDP-GlcNAc) می‌شود. UDP-GlcNAc سپس برای ساخت گلیکوزامینوگلیکان‌ها، پروتئوگلیکان‌ها و گلیکولیپیدها استفاده می‌شود. D-(+)-گلوکزامین از  تجمع گونه‌های مخمر کاندیدا با سویه باکتریایی S. salivarius جلوگیری می‌کند.
